Who Should Apply?
We’re looking for motivated college students who enjoy connecting with people and want to build their leadership, communications, and outreach experience.
You don’t need to be an economics expert. You just need to be excited about bringing an opportunity to your campus and willing to help other students get involved.
Represent your campus. Build your network. Bring Fiscal Challenge to your university—and you could be headed to Washington, D.C.
Fiscal Challenge Campus Ambassadors help introduce students and faculty at their university to the Fiscal Policy Challenge, a national collegiate competition that allows students to tackle one of the country’s biggest policy challenges: the national debt.
Campus Ambassadors serve as the on-campus voice of Fiscal Challenge, helping us reach students interested in economics, public policy, political science, finance, and related fields.
What You’ll Do
During the semester, Campus Ambassadors will:

Post about Fiscal Challenge weekly on social media, using provided graphics, messaging, and resources.

Host three campus talks introducing students to the Fiscal Challenge. These don’t have to be formal events! Talks can include visiting an economics or political science class, speaking at a student organization meeting, or giving a short presentation to another relevant campus group.

Build relationships with faculty by connecting with professors and departments in Economics, Political Science, Public Policy, and related fields and asking them to share the opportunity with their students.

Recruit students to participate and serve as a campus resource for students interested in forming a Fiscal Challenge team.
We’ll make it easy by providing ambassadors with talking points, presentation materials, social media content, email templates, and other recruitment resources.
Complete the Challenge. Earn a Trip to D.C.
Campus Ambassadors who complete the required activities by the end of the semester and successfully recruit at least one team from their university that registers for the Fiscal Challenge will earn a trip to Washington, D.C. in May to attend the year-end Up to Us event.
The trip allows ambassadors to connect with students and young leaders from across the country, expand their professional network, and participate in programming focused on leadership, public policy, and America’s fiscal future.
