Bring Fiscal Challenge to Your High School
The Fiscal Challenge is coming to high schools — and we’re building something exciting from the ground up. Launching as a pilot program during the 2026–2027 academic year, this new initiative will bring real-world policymaking, teamwork, and competition directly to students across North Carolina.
Students will work in teams to tackle a major fiscal challenge facing the nation, developing data-driven solutions and presenting their ideas before a panel of expert judges — just like our nationally recognized collegiate competition. Along the way, they’ll build skills in economics, public speaking, collaboration, research, and critical thinking.
Experiential Learning + Teamwork + Competition = Impact
We are currently seeking:
- 4–6 high schools within driving distance of Raleigh, NC to participate in our inaugural pilot program
- Passionate high school educators to help us adapt and shape the collegiate Fiscal Challenge experience for high school students
Whether implemented in a classroom, club, or extracurricular setting, the High School Fiscal Challenge is designed to inspire the next generation of leaders, problem-solvers, and changemakers.
We’re looking for a small group of innovative high school educators to help adapt the Fiscal Challenge experience for high school students. Members of our Teacher Advisory Board will help shape the structure, resources, and classroom experience of this exciting new pilot program — ensuring it is engaging, accessible, and impactful for today’s students.
Interested in bringing the Fiscal Challenge to your school or helping shape the future of civic and economic education? We’d love to hear from you. Email Allie Roed at [email protected] to learn more about joining our High School Teacher Advisory Board and pilot program.
